The El Torcal park with its unusual rock formations is one of the most impressive limestone landscapes in Europe. For an authentic taste of rural life there are many delightful inland villages to explore most are just a half days drive from the coast. It is also likely that whilst in Andalucia you will come across a fiesta as over 3,000 such celebrations take place each year including fairs, pilgrimages, carnivals and mock battles. Nevertheless, as in other areas of Spain the tradition of watching the world go by from a pavement cafe or tapas bar remains one of the most popular ways to relax.
